August 22nd, 2006 Three nights of eating, drinking and chatting!

Last weekend was my dad’s last vacation weekend here before he had to fly back to Indo. So we tried to make the most of it. Yeah lots of quality family time for the whole weekend. Bang Iwing also stayed over from Friday till Monday.
Friday:

Went to Macy’s in the afternoon (they’re having an awesome sale) and went to dinner at Geisha House. Dad and Bang Iwing have never been there, they said they loved the place and the food. I was craving for that juicy choc souffle cake! To top it off, out extremely nice waiter gave us all free geisha shots (it’s so good I wonder whats in it)

Saturday:

Went to Beverly Center in the afternoon (yeah, another sale :P ) and went to Crustacean right after that. Delicious Crab and Garlic noodles! I didn’t realize dad had been craving for the Garlic noodles since he didn’t tell us. Ugh I realized I forgot to bring my digicam’s memory card, so these pics were taken from my cellphone’s sucky camera (when will that sony er P990 be relased??!!!) We finished at around 11:30 pm and we decided to have coffee and dessert (napoleon and choc eclair) along with some hookah at Gypsy cafe. It was getting a little chilly later on so we went home around 2:30 ish.

Saturday:

Family BBQ Party!! (again ;) )

The whole family plus Reza, Cody, Ellen, David and Jerry was there. I cooked some sambal goreng ati and dendeng balado and mom made some salad. Den BBQ’ed the beef ribs that cody and ellen bought.  I made a first  attempt to bake a choc souffle cake, and although it’s no where near the geisha house souffle quality, i could say it was decent enough to satisfy the cravings (eek I think I ate 3 pieces that night!) Last guests went home at 2 am ish. Definitely lots of eating, drinking and talking that night (especially David with the talking part *WINK *WINK, LOL, I’m just kidding Dave)

August 14th, 2006 Inviting Reza…

Friday nite, we were in such a hurry going back from shopping (i know , i know, again) because Reza (Den’s cous) decided to come at the last minute. Stopped by at Ralph’s and got some Kabob and steaks. Reza arrived at 9-ish and Ellen came at 11-ish after dropping Cody off at the airport. Reza seemed to really love it at our house as even though he said he had to work at 6 am, he still decided to stay until 3 am! Yeah it was sure hella fun sitting in the backyard under the stars chatting until the wee hours;)

We also went to Gypsy Cafe for some coffee and Hookah. Had the Cappucino flavor which was sweet and tasted just perfect. Perfect weekend!=)

July 30th, 2006 A weekend with Farrah and David

I haven’t seen my old bud Farrah for the longest time although she lives in Northen Ca! So when she told me she was coming down for the weekend I was thrilled :) I promised I would take her and her boyfriend, David,  out to a place where we can hang out, drink, talk and smoke too! So I chose Geisha House. The sushi is delicious and their molten chocolate lava cake is TO DIE FOR! best of all, you can smoke since its supposedly ‘outdoors’ It’s also not too loud so we can still chat without having to yell too much. At midnight we requested some birthday candles on the molten cake because it was David’s Bday!

The next day, David and Farrah invited us for BBQ at Dana’s Point. We came a bit late because we were soo tired from the day before, but it’s all good. The sun was still there yet it wasn’t too hot, just perfect for me. I’d hated to think that I could get any darker than I already was. It surely was an awesome weekend =)

July 9th, 2006 Happy Bday Ellen!

The four of us (Me, Den, Ellen & Cody) had dinner at Asia de Cuba to celebrate Ellen’s Bday. It was their first time there (we had been trying to persuade them to try this restaurant) and it turned out wonderful. The patio was packed and despite our 9:30 pm reservation, we weren’t seated until around 10:30 pm. Luckily, we did get the outside seating with the view of the city. Our waiter was great, the food was delicious and the dessert was heavenly!

March 5th, 2006 Inka’s Bday at Cafe Des Artistes

Last nite The four of us (mom, me, den and inka) went to celebrate Inka’s Bday at Cafe Des Artistes. The place was busy, yet it managed to still give out romantic ambiance. And best of all they had plenty outdoors seatings (for smoking and relaxing purposes of course) Good food, but better for desert and hanging out purposes :)
